Download them for learning fun!

Black History Month ~ Sing and Dance and Celebrate!
Teachers and caregivers like Miss Dee, below, are using the song Africa Oh Africa to celebrate Black History. Cosmo, Sachi, and the Scutes are ON TOUR in Africa this month singing the song. The pictures they're sending back are helping us learn about our African connections: animal gallery and on tour gallery.

Mae Jemison :: Astronaut and Doctor

Picture
The turtles love Mae Jemison, because she loves to dance, AND she loves science. We think that's a perfect learning combo!
Ms. Jemison
has done so many things so well: she rode a rocket in space, is a doctor and has helped people, and has been on TV and in movies.

Phillis Wheatley :: Poet and Book Publisher

Picture
The turtles love Phillis Wheatley, because she loved learning like we do!
Ms. Wheatley was brought to Boston initially as a slave. Her owners taught her how to read and write. She loved reading and writing poetry. She is the first African American poet, and the first Black American woman to publish a book. Wow!
